after playing the SOCOM beta, and watching a beta video on youtube, I knew something was wrong, it looks worst in my TV. Right now I have Connector type: Composite / S video, Revolution: Standard (NTSC), TV Type 4:3. Also when I play PS3 at Gamestop, Toys R Us, etc, it looks really neat, the PS3 Menu looks better, you can read the letters better, but in my TV, it looks worst, the letters are kind of blurry. What should I change in my settings? is there any cable that I can use for my TV so it can look better? thanks.
Composite settings is the worst visual setting, the best picture you can get is 480i with composite cables (red, white, yellow). If you want the best visual setting for your TV (I assume it is analog, not digital) then you need to upgrade to component cables (red, blue, green) in order to get the best video for an analog TV, which is 480p. The PS3′s at GameStop, Toys R Us, Wal-Mart, or any other store, are all displayed on HD TV’s which produce a 1080p (or 720p) picture and uses HDMI cables, both your TV cannot do.
Component cables will help a little bit, but still won’t make it look as good as what you are seeing in stores. Your best bet is to get an HD TV which will at least produce a 720p picture, which is way better than what an analog TV can produce, but still not as good as a 1080p TV. Most games are only 720p anyway, so a Full HD TV is not needed.
