Socom 3 or Socom combiened assults?
I have just seen that socom 3 and combien assaults are played in the same server. but can i play my combiened assult with someone on socom 3. ANd is there combied assult only levels. Also i seen u can purchase socom 3 packs. Now it free but i dont have a hardrive but i wanted to know, Isnt every level on socom 3 in combiend assult and if so, why do u need to play socom 3 mappacks. I not sure though if its entirly new leves or socom 3 maps. So can someone explain this to me. Thnx I give 10 points to the best answer
There’s a few different things at hand here.
First is the offline play. Socom 3 and Socom: Combined Assault are two different games. Combined Assault came about a year after Socom 3. Each has an offline campaign in itself. They don’t cross over for the offline play.
Second is the online play. Socom 3 has 12 online maps to play while Combined Assault has all the Socom 3 maps plus 10 more maps for online play. When playing online, the game play is the same. Combined Assault does have some additional weapons available.
If you’re playing Socom 3 online, you can only play in rooms with the Socom 3 maps. If you’re playing Combined Assault online, you can play all maps.
If you’re trying to decide which game to buy for online play, it’s best to get Combined Assault so you don’t have to worry about finding rooms to play.
Lastly, the map packs are something completely different. They released the third map pack last week and decided to make all three of them free. The maps in the map packs are from Socom 1 & Socom 2 that have been reworked and brought back for us to play online.
I’m guessing you have a PS2 since you said you don’t have a hard drive. The easiest way to save the map packs is to use a USB flash drive. Plug the flash drive into one of the front USB ports on the PS2 and go online with Socom.
Go into the Community menu at the top, the go to the Socom Online Store. You’ll see that all 3 map packs are available. Select one to download and follow the prompts to begin downloading. Each map will be saved on your flash drive.
Once the downloading is complete, you’ll be able to find a room with those maps and play.
