how do you free up hdd or usb space on ps3 to download socom 3:ca mappacks,etc.?

With a PS3, you can only save the map packs to a USB flash drive. It stinks, but they won’t save to the PS3 hard drive.
If you already have a flash drive with files on it and you’re wanting to make room, the best way is plug it into a computer and delete the files from there.
