How many soldiers are typically in a type of military special operations strike team?
Like what you see when there’s a team of guys going into hostile territory to take down a drug lord or rescue hostages? How many are there in a team for that purpose, and what are the tasks assigned to each individual soldier, and so on. I guess I’m mainly asking about Navy SEALS or SOCOM, or Army Special Forces basically.
And what equipment do these soldiers usually carry? Weapons, gadgets, body armor, and how much would it weigh?
One more question: If there’s a man wanted by the government on a tropical island guarded by mercenaries in an illegal weapons smuggling operation, and the task is to bring that one man back alive, and permission is granted to go in and get this man, what kind of team(s) would be sent in to retrieve him and how much stealth/firepower/tech support would be needed, and how many soldiers would be sent in?
less that a dozen and you got to be in and out even before they know what,s going on , and carry as little equipment as possible, a radio for extraction of the team ,land mines with trip wires to slow the bad guys down ,and what ever weapon you feel good using and all the ammo you can carry .
