Is it worth it for me to buy a PS3 slim?

Iv owned a 360 for just about 2 years now, no rrod or anything. With the price cut to the PS3 it really got me thinking of buying one. But I just don’t know if it’s worth it to me. I bought a Wii spring on 08, played for 3 months and into the closet it went till I sold it. The type of games I play are online shooters. I played CoD4 for 1 1/2 years then Gears2. But I’m getting bored of Gears. I don’t really care about the Blu-ray, I wouldn’t be getting it for movies. Are the online games PS3 has good enough. When KZ2 came out people were saying it is the Halo or 360 killer, don’t hear much about it. That’s one of the games I might buy. I was looking into Socom Confrontation, got horrible reviews. But people say it’s a lot better now after patches.
I don’t like Halo3, but how can you say a game that has 125k people playing it right now got killed.

First, I’d like to say that Blu-Ray is not solely for movies. Blu-Ray’s benefit is STORAGE. Each dual layer disc can hold 50 GB of data. What does this mean? It means that less data needs to be compressed, if at all, in order to fit on the disc, which brings far better video and sound quality than any other disc format. This is not just for movies. It works for games and even music as well. You really should care about Blu-Ray because its the big reason why games are as good as they are, especially the PS3 exclusives.

Yes, you will be pleased with what the PS3 has to offer if you invest in it. Online gaming is great and the PS3 has its fair share of online shooters.

SOCOM Confrontation got a patch yesterday and the game has never ran better (even though its still isn’t 100% perfect). Too bad Slant Six took so long to release patches to fix most of the issues. If you like shooters, then get SOCOM. It still takes some skill and getting used to to get good (not a game where you can just pick up and play/be good within the day), but they revised some of the guns and scopes in the patch, so it shouldn’t be as hard to learn as it once used to.
