Heckler and Koch USP .45 ACP magazine capacity?

Anyone know what the actual magazine capacity for the .45 USP, MK 23, HK 45 and USP Tactical are? The English H and K website (hk-usa.com) and an unofficial HK website “hkpro.com” have the USP at 10 or 12 rounds and even have the Mk 23 or the so called “socom” pistol at 10 or 12 rounds. Now, the Mk 23 with a mag cap of 12 sounds like a load of crap, considering the large double stacked frame. DEVOID of state mag limits (since we have non applicable here in CT, USA) does anyone know the real mag cap of the USP and MK 23?
I’m a custom M1911 guy at heart, but I’m trying to narrow down my “they’re coming over the wall gun.” I have it down to a Glock 20 with a standard mag of 15 rounds of 10mm, with a optional 17 rounder, and the USP which I thought held 16 rounds. I was pretty damn sure for a long time the USP had a 16 round mag cap. Or are the 16 round 45 mag LEO?

I own a SOCOM MK23 Mod 0, and it is indeed 12 rounds that the magazine holds.

The MK23 was designed specifically to compete in the military trials for a new .45 caliber sidearm, and at the time they only required that the magazine hold 12 rounds.

It also had specified a weight limit for the handguns entered into the trials, so the shear size of the MK23 coupled with a magazine that held more than 12 rounds would have put it’s weight over the maximun they were looking for.

I don’t personally own any other of the HK handguns so I can only go off of what it says on their website for magazine capacity as you have done.

I carry a Glock Model 20 every day in a Galco shoulder holster, and I like it very much. I have added quite a few custom touches to my handgun and it is VERY accurate.

I’ve seen 30 round mags for the Glock 10mm sold on the Cheaper Than Dirt website from time to time, although I’ve never used one. I can’t comment as to their reliability.

As far as I’ve ever seen, the MK23 and the USP Expert are the only 2 .45 caliber handguns that HK manufactures that hold 12 rounds in their magazines. All of the other models in that caliber that they produce hold fewer than that.

There has never been a HK handgun in .45 caliber in their lineup that held more than 12 rounds.

I am also a big fan of customized 1911s and own and shoot 3 of them in IPSC and Combat Handgun matches.
