Special Forces Sniper Course vs U.S.M.C. Scout Sniper School?
I know this is a silly question, but i’m an enthusiast on these types of subjects so just fill me in on what you know. I always hear that Marine Scout Snipers are the best and i have to agree because the Corps’ School lasts nearly twice as long, shoot farther than Army in training, and also are trained in recon or “scouting.” SOCOM however has a school called the SFSC where SOF members are trained to be snipers. This school includes instructors from the Marines, Army, Navy, and even the Air Force. Have i been misinformed in any way?
The Marine Corps Scout/Sniper school teachers both sniper and scouting. Yes, the Marine Corps course is much better than the others. Marines can shoot farther because they use the M-16 which is more accurate and has a longer range than the M-4.
Marines scout/sniper schools do train people from other branches. For instance, on Hawaii, they train the Army 25th infantry and Navy SEALs.
SOCOM snipers are not trained on the scouting portion of sniper. The best scout/sniper school is still the Marine Corps school. The best snipers get their basics during recruit training in the Marine Corps. They don’t teach the basics as in-depth at sniper school, they expect you to have them.
